"How is John"?
"Good news, he was reactivated."
"I didn't know he went inactive".
what unique to jws phrases do you remember?
something fun for those of us taught to speak an entirely unique and pure language.
there have been posts in the past in this forum but perhaps some have new ones after having kept up with jehovah's chariot as the light gets brighter.

admit it, we all have things that we reel off when people ask what our favourite music is, just the same as if people ask what our favourite movies are.
we're meant to say "citizen kane" and "casablanca" and not "battleship" or "pacific rim" but we know what we're going to watch if they are ever on tv at the same time (and which ones we've never actually seen).. so how about some confession time?
what do you listen to when no one else is in the house?.
Yep, Rick James baby!
lol, president trump is clearly putting it out that he’s not too scared of impeachment..
You gotta give the guy credit, he has 36% of the country convinced he's the "Chosen One".
some democrats are zealously pushing the impeachment route to get rid of trump.
even if you don’t like him, do you support impeachment proceedings?.
I don't think Pelosi is a stupid as people think. I believe she knows that all the factual evidence of Trumps financial misdeeds will come out during proceedings in the election year and thus be present in the minds of the electorate. Its a matter of timing, not simply timidity towards impeachment. For this reason and the fact that its their fricken job to defend the country against all enemies, foreign and domestic that I support impeachment of Cheeto.
i admit i have a soft spot for leonard cohen's music.
i had a customer come in who sings for funerals, he just told me his most requested is cohen's "hallelujah".
a good friend used to sing it at christmas in her church!
one of my favorites
after all these years, it seems to me that people do not properly take note of what happened on this date in 2001. for some, it’s like nothing major happened.
for me it is a day of reflection..
Not sure about that, but they have forgotten about the reality of a 16 year old war in Afshitistan.
do you support free choice to wear a political hat or article of clothing?
if someone wants to put a bumper sticker on their car in support of a political candidate or party, should they be able to do it without fear of being maligned or abused?
?.
People should be clear on all that a symbol implies and not show false outrage when they piss off everyone around them. Be willing to stand for your beliefs however unpopular. This isn't meant as permission for people to be violent, its just that when you flip people off they will likely react in an unfriendly manner.
i was in full time service for six years including bethel.
once i got out of bethel, i figured i had already given them six of the best years of my life (ages 18-24) working as a slave/drone in their factory, so i rationalized that i had given them enough... so over the next 27 years i would say maybe $200 bucks is it.
i think their whole "voluntary contributions" idea is biting them in the ass, because over all jehovah's witnesses are a cheap group people with a few exceptions.
i kind of like the 50’s and early 60’s because of the innocence and “happy days” outlook by that generation.
it seems most people were pretty innocent and real.. would you rather be living in a different era or is this century working for you?
?.
As I read these posts I notice that most pick the time period from their tweens to late 20's as the best. I don't think it has as much to do with the "times" as it does with that time in our life when we are still open to new ideas and events. We conflate "the times" with "our" times. I agree with Blondie. I would have died young without medical breakthroughs and let's face it, the communication possible on the net has made the world much smaller. I like that.
yesterday my congregation met for field service and the elder taking the lead did something not so smart: he brought up the child abuse situation and the recent news articles hitting local news across the country.
he said 'you can see that the persecution is really coming' and that we should be ready if someone complains about it at the door.
(funny how it's persecution when it's us and righteous judgment when it happens to the other churches.
